The NL673L2 provides 6 kilowatts of power at 60Hz, running at 1800 RPM, or 5kW/50Hz at 1500 RPM. The 673L2 uses a Lugger L844 4 cycle, 3 cylinder, liquid cooled overhead valve industrial-duty tractor engine, with glow plugs for fast cold weather starting. This unit meets US EPA Tier II emission requirements, and many owners find the built-in muffler works well enough there's no need for an aftermarket muffler.

All Northern Lights W series generators have on-board control panels, and auto-shutdown for low oil pressure and high coolant temperature.
