Rutland's FM910 series wind turbines are well designed for home power systems, and other inland installations. With peak 200W output at 35 mph, and start speeds around 5mph, the 910 series is a good choice for many applications. Six blade design for quiet, balanced operation and reduced vibration.
In late 2012 Marlec updated the FM910-3-12 to the FM910-4-12.
The 6 blade design provides better balance and stability, especially under winter blade-icing conditions. The furling tail design rotates the generator out of the prevailing wind at speeds above 35mph, to protect the turbine from storm damage.
All Marlec Rutland wind generators are built to marine specifications, making them very durable in harsh environments. Their unique flywheel-effect generator continues producing power between sudden gusts of wind, when other turbines may stall. All Rutland generators feature low start-up speeds, and high peak output speeds, making them some of the most versatile home power generators available.
The FM910 is available in 12 or 24VDC, be sure to order the correct voltage. Designed for use with Rutland's HRSi, HRDi or the HRDX digital controller. Controller may need to be ordered voltage specific. The Rutland/Marlec controller/regulators often will also handle a small amount of additional solar.
Mounts by sleeving into 41mm (~1.614") ID pipe. OD must be no more than 48mm (~1.890"). See also our ADP48-RUTLAN to mount on top of a 1.5" Schedule 40 or 80 pipe. Without the adapter you may have to machine a little out of the inside of your 1.5" schedule 40 pipe. The adapter also enables you to easily mount onto schedule 80 pipe.
